The Supreme Court (SC) has issued an order to show cause in a writ filed against Rastriya Swatantra Party Chair Rabi Lamichhane's candidacy.
The order was issued in the name of the opposition on Wednesday, following the hearing on the petition before the single bench of Supreme Court Justice Hari Phuyal.
Justice Phuyal issued the order on the petition filed against the Attorney General's decision not to prosecute the matter of passport abuse.
The petitioner and attorneys for Lamichhane also testified on Wednesday.
Yuvraj Paudel filed a petition before the Supreme Court on Monday, seeking that Lamichhane be charged in a passport violation case.
