
President of the ruling Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Rabi Lamichhane met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in New Delhi today.
"Delighted to meet the Chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party of Nepal Mr. Rabi Lamichhane. I welcome and fully share his desire to work closely together for a shared and prosperous future," Indian PM Modi wrote on his social media account.
Nepal is a priority partner under our Neighbourhood First policy and we look forward to collaborating with the new government to elevate the special and multifaceted relationship between our two countries to greater heights, PM Modi added.
On that occasion, Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, Prime Minister Modi's Chief Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Foreign Secretary Bikram Mishri and others were present, while President Lamichhane, his wife Nikita Poudel, RSP leaders Bipin Acharya and Dipak Bohara, and high-ranking officials of the Nepali Embassy in New Delhi were also present on behalf of Nepal.
President Lamichhane is on a five-day visit to India at the invitation of India's ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). On Tuesday, Lamichhane had held talks with BJP president Nitin Nabin and India's External Affairs Minister, Dr. S. Jaishankar.
