The Supreme Court has upheld the Dipayal High Court's decision to sentence Resham Chaudhary, convicted in Tikapur incident, to life in jail.
Following the hearing on the petition filed against High Court's verdict, the bench of Justices Anand Mohan Bhattarai and Nahkul Subedi agreed to condemn Chaudhary to life in jail.
Resham Chaudhary is serving life in jail for his role in the violent event that murdered 7 security officers and one juvenile on 24 August 2015, in Tikapur, Kailali, along with SSP Lakshman Neupane of Nepal Police. District Court Kailali and High Court Dipayal both condemned him to life in jail.
Chaudhary had filed an appeal with the Supreme Court challenging the High Court's verdict.
