The Q’s experts have developed a bicycle with square wheels, and while it may sound unbelievable, it's totally functional.

'Please meet almost normal bicycle but with one modification - square wheels!' they stated in the caption of the YouTube video showing off the bike. ‘This concept is fully working and you can ride and make turns.'

In the video, the team can be seen welding metal poles together to construct a square frame for the wheels. Spokes are then added, however these are just decorative.

This is due to the fact that the exterior of the wheel has a tank-like track that goes around the entire frame when the rider pedals. The square wheels are stationary, while the track around their edges moves to create traction. Finally, the wheels are attached to a conventional bike frame before a daring rider climbs aboard and takes off down the road.

'Creating and [installing] square wheels on [a] bicycle has been one of the most craziest projects we've ever built,' The Q added.

'Lot's of attention guaranteed.'

The  cost to manufacture or whether it will ever be available for purchase is unknown.

However the video has received a lot of attention online, as The Q predicted, with over 4.9 million views at the time of writing. Several delighted viewers wrote comments on the YouTube video.

'I was expecting the square tires to actually turn. This is even better!!' one user wrote.

Another added: Are you kidding me right now? That was the sickest thing I've ever seen! Dude, how you planned that and then managed to actually build that is astonishing!

!!! REDICULAS AMOUNT OF RESPECT!!!

And one joked: 'You should take the bike on a ride in a populated area, where people look in amazement and be like, "What the!?"'
