ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup: Nepal Advances To Super Six Defeating Afghanistan

Nepal advanced to the ICC U-19 World Cup 2024 Super Six stage, after defeating Afghanistan by one wicket.

Nepal advanced to the Super Six after finishing third in Group D. Nepal lost 9 wickets in 44.4 overs while chasing a 146-run winning goal.

Captain Dev Khanal added 58 runs to Nepal's triumph. He scored 58 runs, including 7 fours.

Deepak Bohra tallied 27 runs. Deepak, who scored 4 fours, faced 42 balls. Nepal bowled out Afghanistan in 40.1 overs. Akash Chand grabbed five key wickets for Nepal in the match against Afghanistan. Dipesh Kandel collected 2 wickets, while Gulsan Jha and Tilak Bhandari claimed 11 wickets.

Afghanistan won the toss and opted to bat first. After losing their previous two matches, Nepal defeated Afghanistan to go to the Super Six.

Nepal fell by 64 runs against New Zealand in the first group stage match, while lost with Pakistan by 5 wickets.

Group A includes India, Bangladesh, Ireland, and the United States. Nepal, New Zealand, and Pakistan will join the top three teams from Group A in the Super Six.

In the Super Six, Nepal will face the top two teams from Group A.
