
Lumbini, Dec 18: The Butwal bench of High Court, Tulasipur has ordered the release of Chairperson of the Rastriya Swatantra Party, Rabi Lamichhane on bail.
The order was issued on Thursday to release former Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Lamichhane, who is in judicial custody for the investigation over the misappropriation of the fund in the Butwal-based Supreme Cooperatives.
A division bench of judges Basudev Acharya and Tej Narayan Poudel issued the order, directing Lamichhane's release upon deposit of bail equal to the alleged loss worth Rs 27.48 million, said Information Officer at the Court, Ram Bahadur Kunwar.
Earlier, Lamichhane had submitted an application, expressing readiness to deposit bail equivalent to his alleged liability.
