Baitadi, Augt 21: The risk of dengue fever is on the rise in Baitadi district. So far, seven people were infected with the dengue fever in the district, according to Jaya Singh Badal, a lab technician at the District Health Office.
The Health Office has initiated the "Search and Destroy Larva" campaign after cases were detected in the district. It is said that three cases were confirmed in Dasharath Chand Municipality, two in Purchaudi Municipality, and one each in Melauli and Patan municipalities.
Information Officer of the District Health Office Bipin Lekhak stated that the campaign to destroy the mosquito larva was initiated in the district headquarters and Patan bazaar area for the prevention and control of the dengue since mosquitoes remain more active during monsoon.
The health workers, security personnel, local representatives, civil society members, and local people were involved in the cleanup campaign. The campaign was conducted on Wednesday.
Likewise, other local governments in the district have also launched the "Search and Destroy Larva" campaign for dengue prevention and control.
