
Kathmandu, June 24: The Society of Consulting Architectural & Engineering Firms (SCAEF) Nepal, in collaboration with the Construction Business Development Implementation Committee (CBDIC) and the Federation of Contractors' Associations of Nepal (FCAN), successfully concluded a three-day training program on “Contract Management under FIDIC Red Book 2017” from June 22–24, 2026 (8–10 Asar, 2083).
The NEC-accredited Continuing Professional Development (CPD) program aimed to enhance the capacity of key construction stakeholders—Clients, Consultants, and Contractors (3Cs)—in managing FIDIC-based construction contracts. Participants earned CPD hours while strengthening their professional knowledge and skills.
The training covered key topics including FIDIC contract fundamentals, risk allocation, the Engineer’s role, variations, extension of time (EOT), payment mechanisms, claims management, dispute avoidance, and contract close-out procedures.
The program concluded at Hotel Crystal Pashupati, Gaushala, Kathmandu, with a closing ceremony chaired by SCAEF Nepal President Er. Thakur Prasad Sharma. Special guests included Prof. Dr. Padma Bahadur Shahi, Chairperson of the Nepal Engineering Council (NEC), and Mr. Ramji Pant, Senior Vice President of FCAN.
The training brought together engineers, project managers, contract administrators, procurement specialists, and construction professionals from government agencies, consulting firms, and contracting organizations, fostering knowledge exchange and promoting best practices in contract management.
