Kathmandu, Aug 17: Nepal Police have arrested two employees of Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) with foreign currency from Tribhuvan International Airport.
The arrested are Janani Bajracharya, 54, of Gongabu, Kathmandu Metropolitan City-26, and Mamta Pandey, 35, of Gorkha Municipality-3, according to TIA Security Office Spokesperson and Superintendent of Police Rajkumar Silwal.
According to the police, 4,300 US dollars each was recovered from Bajracharya and from Pandey. Police said that the foreign currency was found during a body search at the hand baggage checking area of the TIA international departure area. They were reportedly travelling to Kuala Lumpur on NAC flight number RA 15.
Both have been sent to the Money Laundering Investigation Department, Pulchowk, along with the recovered currency for further investigation and necessary legal action.
