Interim Cabinet Takes Shape, Newly Appointed Ministers Sworn In

President Ram Chandra Paudel has administered the oath of office and secrecy to the three ministers appointed by Prime Minister Sushila Karki  today.

Kulman Ghising, former executive director of the Nepal Electricity Authority, has been appointed as the Minister of Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation. Om Prakash Aryal has been appointed as the Minister of Home Affairs and Law, and Rameshwor Khanal has been appointed as the Minister of Finance.

Massive protests were held across the country, including in the Kathmandu Valley, on September 8 and 9. After the protests turned violent, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli resigned from his post.

Following his resignation, President Ramchandra Paudel appointed former Chief Justice Karki as the Prime Minister of the interim government last Friday.
