
Kathmandu, Sept 8 — At least 16 people have died and more than 100 others have been injured during the ongoing Gen Z protest in Kathmandu Valley.
The injured are currently receiving treatment at various hospitals across the city.
According to hospital sources, six of the deceased were being treated at the Trauma Center, where 25 injured individuals are still undergoing treatment. Among them, five are reported to be in critical condition.
The Civil Hospital reported three deaths among the injured protesters under its care. Kathmandu Medical College confirmed one death out of the 20 injured individuals it is treating.
Everest Hospital is currently treating 34 people injured in the protest, three of whom have died. Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) has also confirmed one death, with 16 people still receiving treatment.
In response to the escalating crisis, the Ministry of Health and Population has directed all medical facilities to provide free treatment to those injured during the protest.
Anand Kafle, spokesperson for the Ministry of Home Affairs, informed that detailed data on the damage caused during the Gen Z protest is still being collected.
