
Kathmandu, March 31: The former Chief District Officer of Kathmandu, Chhabi Rijal, was arrested by a team of police personnel from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office this morning from his residence in Koteshwor, Kathmandu.
Rijal was the CDO of the Kathmandu District Administration Office during the Gen-Z Movement occurred on September 8 and 9, 2025.
Rijal was arrested based on the recommendations of the Karki Commission formed to investigate the incidents of Gen-Z protests.
Superintendent of Police (SP) of the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office Manohar Prasad Bhatta told the RSS that Rijal would be taken to the District Police Range, Kathmandu, for further investigation.
Earlier on March 27, the police had arrested former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak.
