A man has been swept away by a river while he was pulling out wood from the river this morning.
Tal Bahadur Thapa, 55, from Byas municipality-1 of Tanahu district was swept away by the Seti River while he was fishing out woods from the river, according to District Police Office, Tanahu.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Dipak Raya informed that search for the missing Thapa was continued.
When the flooded rivers and streams wash away the smashed tree branches, people gather on the riverbanks and pull out the wood in a bid to manage firewood, which, however, turns fatal in some cases.
Meanwhile, the Prithvi Highway obstructed by the landslide has been opened for one-way traffic since this morning.
