Fake Bhutanese Refugee Scam: High Court Upholds Verdict Of District Court

The Patan High Court has issued an order to keep former Home Minister Balkrishna Khand and former minister Top Bahadur Rayamajhi in custody over the fake Bhutanese refugee scam.

Today, a joint bench of judges Janak Pandy and Prakash Kharel issued an order for former ministers to remain in custody. The hearing on the case began on November 21 and concluded on November 30.

The High Court upheld the district court's verdict, ordering the detainment of Tek Narayan Pande, Dr. Indra Jeet Rai, Keshab Prasad Dulal, Sanu Bhandari, Sagar Rai, Govinda Kumar Chaudhari, Sandesh Sharma, and Angtawa Sherpa, as well as the former ministers.

However, Samsher Miya, Aashish Budhathoki, Sandip Raymajhi, Tek Narayan Rijal, Tanka Kumar Gurung, Keshab Tuladhar, and Ram Sharan KC, who were all charged in the same case, were ordered to be released on bail by the High Court.
