Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar has clarified about the map of "Akhand Bharat' kept on display in the new parliament building.
Speaking to media persons during a press conference on Thursday to address the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led India government's nine-year tenure, EAM Jaishankar said the issue should not be developed into a political issue.
"It depicts the Ashokan Empire's spread and the idea of responsible and people-oriented governance that he adopted," he explained. "It should not turn into a political issue, and our friendly neighbors will understand." "It's not that big of a deal."
"As far as I have been informed, they have understood the concept," he further added.
