The Mayor of Kirtipur Municipality, Raj Kumar Nakarmi, passed away last night. Nakarmi, a kidney patient, died while receiving treatment at Bir Hospital, Kathmandu.
Chief Administrative Officer of the municipality, Madhav Prasad Dhakal, said Nakarmi's body will be kept at the municipality office for some time to pay tribute and the final rites will be performed by today itself.
Likewise, the municipality has issued a note announcing a public holiday for today to mourn the demise of Mayor Nakarmi.
