A meeting of the Constitutional Council held this evening has decided to recommend Acting Chief Justice Hari Krishna Karki as the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court (SC).
A meeting of the Council held at the Prime Minister's official residence unanimously recommended Karki's name for the CJ, National Assembly Chairman Ganesh Prasad Timilsina confirmed.
The meeting presided over by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' was attended by Speaker of House of Representatives (HoR) Devraj Ghimire, NA Chairman Timilsina, Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Dhanraj Gurung, main opposition CPN (UML)'s Chairman KP Sharma Oli and Deputy Speaker of HoR Indira Ranamagar.
