Demonstration Against Mayor Shah in Kathmandu

A demonstration has been held to protest against the Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Balendra Shah.

On Monday, a demonstration was staged in Kathmandu from New Baneshwar to Maitighar Mandla against Mayor Shah for leading the squatters' displacement against the constitution and law.

Kumar Karki, president of the United National Squatters Front, Nepal, said that the demonstration started in opposition to Kathmandu Metropolitan City and Mayor Shah's initiative to displace them by force.

He also threatened to opt for a severe protest if KMC continued to pressure landless people.

Slogans were raised demanding the release of the land activists arrested during the protest and the dismissal of all the false cases against them.
