China, Japan Congratulates Newly Elected President Paudel

President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping has congratulated President Ram Chandra Paudel on his assumption of the Office of the President of Nepal.

In a message today, President Xi has said he attaches great importance to development of China-Nepal relations, and is willing to work with President Paudel to carry forward the traditional friendship between the two countries, consolidate mutual political trust, expand cultural and people-to-people exchanges, so as to constantly promote the strategic partnership of cooperation featuring ever-lasting friendship for development and prosperity.

The Chinese President has said that China and Nepal are friendly neighbours linked by mountain and rivers, and since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1955, their relations have maintained healthy and stable development, setting a good example of peaceful coexistence, friendship and mutual assistance.

Similarly, Prime Minister of Japan Kishida Fumio has congratulated Paudel on his inauguration as President of Nepal.

The Japanese PM extended congratulations to President Paudel in an official letter on March 13.

"The Government of Japan is looking forward to further working with the Government of Nepal to promote the bilateral relations and friendship between two countries and cooperate in the social and economic development of Nepal under the leadership of President Paudel," reads the letter.
