Ramsahay Prasad Yadav, the parliamentary leader of Nepal's Janata Samajwadi Party, has registered his candidacy for the position of Vice President.
Yadav registered his candidacy for the post of vice president on behalf of the 10-party alliance today.
JSP leaders Ashok Kumar Rai, Pradeep Yadav, Kishan Shrestha, Shakti Basnet, Rameshjung Rayamazhi proposed for the post, while Rekha Yadav, Ambika Kafle, Prakash Jwala, Khimlal Devkota, Bhanubhakta Joshi backed the proposal.
After registering his candidacy, candidate Yadav expressed his commitment to protect and promote the national unity of the country if elected.
The election to the post of Vice-President is taking place on March 17.
