CPN-UML has withdrawn its support for the government led by Prime Minister Puspa Kamal Dahal and also decided to quit the government.

This decision was taken by the UML secretariat meeting held at the party's central office on Monday.

Speaking to the media after the meeting, leader Bishnu Prasad Paudel said that Prime Minister Dahal did proceed according to the agreement reached on December 25 and has pressured UML to leave the government.

He alleged that the Prime Minister Dahal has pressured UML to leave the government, or he would immediately dismiss the ministers. He  stopped the Minister of Foreign Affairs' Dr. Vimala Rai Paudyal's Geneva visit, which reflected Prime Minister Dahal's  immaturity and resistance towards the UML, said Paudel.

He claimed that stopping her from representing the nation at the last moment had an adverse effect on the honor of the nation.

Paudel also accused Dahal of not wanting political stability in the country.
