President Bidya Devi Bhandari attended the 'Basanta Shrawan' ritual organised at Nasal Chowk located in Hanumandhoka Durbar Square today.
On the occasion of Basanta Panchami festival, President Bhandari reached the Nasal Chowk where priest at Hanumandhoka Durbar Supervision Office, Devraj Aryal, recited the 'Basanta' verses at 10:47 am, the auspicious hour. The hymns are written by Jaydev Panta in the ancient time.
As per the tradition, head of the state and government, along with high ranking government officials attend the Basanta Shrawan ritual at Nasal Chowk on the occasion of Basanta Panchami every year.
