Kathmandu, Aug 6: Country's some major highways and transport routes have been disrupted by monsoon-triggered disasters including floods and landslides.
According to the Nepal Police, Khurkot-Nepalthok-Katunjebensi section of the BP Highway is to remain open only from 4 am to 6 pm.
The Hetauda-Bhimphedi-Bagmati-Lalitpur road section of the Kanti Highway is to be closed during the night.
The Lamosanghu-Ramechhap road section in Tamakoshi rural municipality-4 in Dolakha district is also obstructed from the flooding.
Similarly, the Araniko Highway has been blocked following landslides at Charkilo (on the road to Tatopani) and Kodari in Bhotekoshi rural municipality-4 of Sindhupalchowk district, according to the police.
The Pasang-Lhyamu road section has been blocked at the Khatle area in Rasuwa's Uttargaya rural municipality-5.
Furthermore, the Nagma-Gamgadhi road section in Mugu district has been obstructed at the Talcha area and the Kaligandaki corridor at Belbagar in Jaimini municipality-8, Baglung. Likewise, flooding has disrupted the Kaligandaki corridor at the Litipiring area in Palpa district.
The police have urged everyone to check the latest road conditions with the relevant authorities before setting out during the monsoon season and to exercise extra caution while travelling through landslide-prone and other high-risk areas.
The public has been urged to use alternative routes until the suspended routes are restored.
