Kathmandu, Aug 26: The Nepal Telecom Company Limited (Nepal Telecom) has provided free telephone, SMS and internet services for the people of the affected by Bhotekoshi flood.
Minister for Information and Communications, Dr Bikram Timilsina, had directed the Nepal telecom to immediately provide free telephone and internet services at flood-hit areas.
The NT has made arrangement of unlimited voice service, 2GB data and 50 SMS every day free of cost for two days to locals of flood affected areas, said Spokesperson at the Nepal Telecom, Kamal Lamichhane.
The flood has destroyed two telecom towers in Rasuwa and five in Nuwakot and a team of the Nepal Telecom has already been deputed for repair and maintenance of telecom towers, mentioned the Nepal Telecom.
Similarly, tankers carrying aviation fuel have been mobilized from Kathmandu to Nuwakot to refuel helicopters to be deployed for rescue and search of affected people.
