
Kathmandu, Sept 15: Newly appointed Attorney General Sabita Bhandari assumed office today.
Bhandari assumed office after taking the oath of office and secrecy before Chief Justice Prakash Man Singh Raut.
Talking to reporters after assuming office, she said that the current adverse situation calls for collaboration among all sides. “The situation is not favourable but then it is the time to deliver,” Attorney General Baral said, “This is a difficult situation where everyone should work together. I am committed to do the best on my part.”
Senior advocate Baral was appointed the government’s legal advisor by President Ramchandra Paudel, on the recommendation of the Prime Minister of the Interim Government, on Sunday. She is the first woman to be appointed Attorney General in the history of Nepal.
