Kathmandu, Jan 24: The price of gold has gone up by Rs 1,000 per tola (11.66 grammes) in the local market today.
The surge is attributed to the increase of the yellow metal in the international market and rising demand in the local market.
With the hike in the price, the Federation of Gold and Silver Dealers' Association has fixed the price of gold at Rs 160,600 per tola today. It was traded at Rs 159,600 yesterday.
Likewise, the price of silver has climbed to Rs 1,880 per tola today, with a slight increase- Rs 5 per tola. It is being traded at Rs 1,880 against Rs 1,875 yesterday, according to the Federation.
