San Francisco, Dec 31: Prof. Purushottam Dahal, Editor-in-Chief of Himalaya Times National Daily, urged Nepalis residing overseas to contribute their knowledge, talents, and resources for the development of Nepal.
Addressing the program organized to mark his visit to San Francisco, Dahal stressed that Nepali migrants may have a huge influence by assisting their family with healthcare and education. He also emphasized that resolving political divisions in Nepal will increase the diaspora's contributions to the country.
The event commemorated the release of the English edition of Dahal's novel 'Shanta'. Sarbgyaraj Wagle, President of the International Nepali Literature Society, complimented the novel's emotional depth, while artist Deviram Parajuli emphasized Dahal's contributions to journalism.
The event, hosted at Gorkha Kitchen, brought together prominent Nepali community members such as Dr. Amod Pokharel, Dr. Ramesh Acharya, businessman Harihar Dahal, and social activist Laxmi Prasad Baskota. The discussions centered on how Nepali migrants may utilize their abilities to help Nepal improve, particularly in education and healthcare.
The gathering closed with a plea for the Nepali diaspora to contribute to Nepal's development and prosperity.
