A new educational program, Experience AI, has been formally launched in Nepal.
Experience AI was launched with the goal of introducing kids aged 11 to 14 to the fundamental ideas of artificial intelligence (AI), also equipping them to be both educated users and responsible developers of AI technology.
The program, co-developed by the Raspberry Pi Foundation and Google DeepMind and introduced in Nepal by Digital and Beyond, aims to equip Nepali youth with critical AI literacy skills.
The Experience AI curriculum will provide students practical insights into AI while also encouraging critical thinking about the technologies' ethical and societal consequences. The curriculum also aims to create new career paths in agriculture, healthcare, and business while allowing students to address important real-world concerns in Nepal.
Philip Colligan, CEO of the Raspberry Pi Foundation said, "I am delighted to welcome Digital and Beyond to the global network of organisations advancing AI literacy through Experience AI. Together we will provide thousands of young people in Nepal with the skills and confidence they need to thrive in a world that is increasingly being shaped by AI technologies."
