Muglin (Chitwan), Oct 14: The Manakamana Cable Car is to remain shut for three days. The service will be suspended on October 15-17 for repair and maintenance.
Deputy Manager of Manakamana Darshan Pvt Ltd, Ujjwal Sherchan, said that the service is to be closed for three days from tomorrow for carrying out repair and maintenance works as well as for tightening the cables.
According to him, the cable car service will be resumed from October 18. The cable car service was closed on October 12, the day of Bijaya Dashami and on October 13 before this. The cable car service is operated the whole day today.
The cable car service was started on November 24, 1998 for easing travel of visitors to the Manakamana Temple, a famous religious site, at Sahid Lakhan rural municipality in Gorakha district.
The 'bottom station' of the Cable Car Service is however situated at Cheres, Icchakamana rural municipality-4 in Chitwan district.
