A guide has died while two people including a foreign tourist have been injured due to the attack of a rhinoceros inside the Dalla Community Forest within the buffer zone of the Bardiya National Park.
A one-horned rhino assaulted them while they were observing wildlife in the forest at Madhuban Municipality-1 this morning. The deceased is 35-year-old nature guide Man Mohan Chaudhary of Thakurbaba Municipality-9 in Bardiya district. He died on the spot, according to the Madhuban Municipality, Ward No 1 Chairman, Min Thapa.
Those injured in the incident are 56-year-old MC Lyndon Shawn, an American, and 58-year-old Khinchu Chaudhary, the forest security guard. The rhino hit on the nature guide's belly and the buttocks of the foreign tourist. The injured American visitor is being treated at the Thakurbaba City Hospital, Bhurigaon. Police said the tourist's health condition is moderate while that of the forest guard's is normal.
