A total of 173 people lost their lives in natural disaster including landslides and floods that occurred at different places of the country till today afternoon from June 10.
Three persons died in Kathmandu Valley, 26 in Koshi Province, seven in Madhes Province, 31 in Bagmati Province, 54 in Gandaki Province, 33 in Lumbini Province, eight in Karnali Province and 11 in Sudurpaschim Province, said Spokesperson at the Police Headquarters, Deputy Inspector General Dan Bahadur Karki.
Similarly, 223 people sustained injuries --11 in Kathmandu Valley, 37 in Koshi Province, 11 in Madhes Province, 23 in Bagmati Province, 46 in Gandaki Province, 13 in Lumbini Province, 54 in Karnali Province and 28 in Sudurpaschim Province.
Twenty-eight people affected from landslide, flood were rescued in Kathmandu valley, 49 in Koshi province, 12 in Bagmati Province, 14 in Gandaki Province, three in Lumbini Province, two in Karnali Province and five in Sudurpaschim Province.
Karki shared two persons went missing in Koshi Province, 41 in Bagmati Province, two in Gandaki Province, one each in Lumbini Province, Karnali Province and Sudurpaschim Province.
Search for the missing people was underway, he added. A total of 384 houses were inundated due to floods while 275 houses, 104 huts, 43 bridges, two school buildings and two government offices suffered damages.
Likewise, 4,322 families were displaced from the disaster incidents as well as 812 cattle died during the period, shared Spokesperson karki.
