Eighteen people on board were killed when an aircraft of Saurya Airlines crashed into the ditch in the east of the runway of the Tribhuvan International Airport during the takeoff.
The bodies of 18 people on board have been retrieved, and preparations are underway to take all the bodies to the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH).
The 37-year-old captain, Manish Shakya, has been rescued from the site and rushed to the hospital for treatment.
The plane was scheduled to fly from Kathmandu to Pokhara, carrying employees and technicians to repair the aircraft of Saurya Airlines.
According to the airport office, the plane was carrying 19 people, including crew members.
Domestic flights are affected at the airport following the incident.
