A symposium of hand surgeons has begun in Kathmandu to utilize their theoretical knowledge for the treatment of the hand and upper extremities. The Nepal Hand Surgery Society organized a conference of hand surgeons that began on Saturday in Kathmandu. The meeting is organized to bring together the next generation of surgeons and discuss the treatment options and challenges present in Nepal, Dr. Shilu Shrestha informed.
She stated that the Hand Surgery Society incorporates orthopedic surgeons, plastic surgeons, general surgeons, and any individual with specialized training in hand surgery. Dr. Shrestha added that there are several forms of hand injuries caused by accidents, and treating them is known as hand surgery.
She explained that hand injuries are the most prevalent in accidents in Nepal, so the program was created with the goal of providing practical knowledge to everyone. The accident rate in Nepal is high. The hand damage is regarded as the most serious. She stated that this event was held to explain Nepalese surgery practice, as well as the technology and new information accessible around the globe, to both experienced and young Nepalese doctors.
She stated that the Nepal Hand Surgery Society will continue organizing such activities in the future. Hand surgeons from several nations, including China, are attending the symposium.
