Government Commits To Revive Long-Closed Industries

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has said preparations are afoot to revive industries that have remained closed for long.

Addressing the 20th Establishment Day and National Council Meeting of Press Centre Nepal in Parsa of Birgunj today, the Prime Minister said preparations are going on to revive key industrial entities such as the Biratnagar Jute Mill, Hetauda Textile Factory, Gorakhkali Rubber Industry and Butwal Spinning Mills Ltd.

"It has been decided to operate such industries under the private-public partnership model," he said. The Prime Minister expressed government's commitment to budget formulation through collaborative efforts of political parties, with upcoming policies and programs designed to prioritize the citizens' interests, promoting socialism and social justice.

Significant changes are expected through the upcoming budget, policies and programmes and submissions from local and province governments will be sought during the formulation procedures, according to the Prime Minister.

He further added that the government has strongly acted against land mafia and usury practices and the decision to include labour force from informal, self-employment and foreign employments to the Social Security Fund are among the significant achievements of the incumbent government.
