Around 80 students studying in the fifth semesters of Bachelor's Degree in College of Natural Resource Management in Bardibas-6 in Mahottari district have been down with fever since around six days, said the college. The ill students, who are scheduled to appear in examinations from coming Friday, have had high fever and headache, it has been said.
Following this, a team of doctors from Bardibas Hospital has reached the college and conducted a health test of the students. Of them, three are confirmed infected with dengue, said the hospital medical officer Dr Kishor Adhikari.
Consumption of polluted water is also blamed for fever in the students, said the campus chief Hari Bhujel.
Bardibas-6 coordinated with the hospital to take health test of the ill students, said the municipality ward chair Padam Alemagar, adding that some of the ill students are receiving treatment in a local health institution and some others in Bardibas Hospital. The municipality mayor is regularly inquiring about the health condition of the ill students, said Alemagar.
