Inmates are being compelled to face trouble due to protraction in bringing into operation two spacious jails in the district.
The jailbirds are directly bearing the brunt of inaction of authorities in determining a process to operate large jails in Banker. According to Prabhat Singh Thakuri, a campaigner, the inmates have passed through a tough time in the district jail while accommodating more being not sensitive to its holding capacity.
'The jailbirds are facing difficulty due to limited space in the district prison. Besides, they are not in a condition to enjoy their fundamental human rights', he added. It is unfortunate that the open jail which was constructed in Ganipur of Janaki six years ago has not yet brought into operation, he commented.
