Government to prioritize the infectious illness prevention, control, and treatment, especially covid-19.

Similarly,  Rs. 1 billion 15 crores of budget has been allotted for the "Tuberculosis Free Nepal Campaign" to identify sufferers and deliver free treatment.

Minister of Finance, Dr Ramsharan Mahat announced today while presenting the budget of fiscal year 2080/81 that Rs. 46 crores for the development and expansion of the Infectious Disease Hospital. The Shukraraj Tropical and Communicable Disease Hospital will be enlarged to accommodate 300 patients.

He informed that Rs. 8 billion has been budgeted for the development of 5, 10, and 15-bed hospitals at 322 local levels, and it focuses on building and operation of basic hospitals that serve the bulk of the population.

Provincial Communicable Disease Hospitals being built in Pokhara, Surkhet, Doti, and Bharatpur will be finished and operational by next year. I have allotted Rs. 46 crores for the development and expansion of the Infectious Disease Hospital.

Dr. Mahat declared that Rs. 82 crores has been alloted to acquire health equipment for 100 hospitals that would be finished next year.

He added that budget is alloted  to raise public awareness about the pandemic, comply with health regulations, provide immunization services, and coordinate treatment services.
