Three of the people onboard the Simrik Air helicopter that crashed today in Sankhuwasabha are said to have sustained severe injuries, according to the District Administration Office, Sankhuwasabha. Rescue efforts are underway through a Nepal Army helicopter, said administrative officer, Bhogendra Shrestha.
Eleven Army personnel have been deployed along with its helicopter for rescue efforts, said Brigadier General Krishna Prasad Bhandari, the NA spokesperson. Out of the total five people onboard the ill-fated helicopter, three are said to be in serious condition, and two in normal situation, he said.
The accident took place at Hammaredanda of Bhotkhola Rural Municipality-4 while landing. The helicopter was carrying materials for the Upper Arun hydropower project.
