On Thursday, hundreds of devotees flocked to take holy baths in Balaju's Baisdhara (22 waterspouts) for the annual ritual shower.
The event, also known as the Balaju Baisdhara Mela, is held every year on Chaitra Sukla Purnima (Full Moon Day). Many worshippers visit Balaju Park to observe the mela. It is believed that taking a shower at the spouts on this day leads to spiritual purification and that many diseases may be cured.
