The youth of the Gen Z generation are staging a demonstration in Kathmandu primarily against recent social media ban, corruption, and nepotism.

The crowd started gathering at Maitighar at 9 am on Monday.

Gen Z or Zoomers, are the demographic cohort born during the late 1990s and early 2000s. Gen Z is the first generation that has grown up entirely digitally. Unlike millennials, who grew up with cable television and landline phones while seeing the emergence of the Internet, Generation Z has lived their lives totally linked digitally.

The movement of the Gen Z generation has been supported by public representatives and leaders. Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balen Shah mentioned his support for the program via social media. Congress leader Shekhar Koirala has also said that this movement is justified.
