Ramsahay Prasad Yadav has been elected the third Vice President of country.
Yadav was chosen Vice President with 30 thousand 328 votes in the election held on Friday.
UML's Ashtalakshmi Shakya received 169 votes in the state parliament and 104 votes in the union, while Janmat's Mamata J received 15 votes in the state and 23 votes in the union.
Shakya and Jha ran as a single candidate, whereas Yadav was backed by Congress, the Maoist Center, and the CPN Unified Socialist Party.
311 federal MPs and 518 state assembly members voted in the poll.
Voting began at 10 a.m. and ended at 3 p.m. The certificate for the vice presidential election has been issued by the Electoral Commission.
