Maoists to Respond Collectively Against Actions Contrary to Peace Accord

The leaders under Maoist ideology have resolved to respond collectively against any attempts to criminalize the political movement, contrary to the detailed peace accord and previous agreements.

The meeting today at the Prime Minister's residence, Baluwatar, which comprised senior Maoist leaders of the People's War, decided to form a collective response to the recent activities and to publicize the joint position.

Devprasad Gurung, General Secretary of the CPN-Maoist Centre, informed that they have agreed to stand together and express  same views regarding the peace process and transitional justice.

The group also agreed to host a joint press conference and a joint interaction on March 12th and 14th. Before the press conference, a joint appeal will be released. The interaction will be addressed by the top leaders of the Maoist movement.

Janardan Sharma, Deputy General Secretary of the Maoist Center, stated that the remaining work of transitional justice and the peace process should be concluded in accordance with the meaning and spirit of the comprehensive peace agreement.
