The Nepal Medical Association has suspended its protest after holding talks with the government.
The association decided to stop all health services except emergency services to protest the police action against doctors and health workers on February 10.
The president of the association Dr. Lochan Karki, the secretary of the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers and the coordinator of the negotiation team Dr. Ganesh Prasad Pandey, signed an agreement following the talks. According to the agreement, all the agitation programs put forward by the association are halted with immediate action.
The agreement also states that the government would fund treatment for the doctor and action will be taken against the security officers who attacked the doctor.
