Lionel Messi wore a Bisht while lifting the trophy of World Cup 2022 .

Emir of Qatar Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani placed the ceremonial robe on his shoulders before he lifted the cup.

Bisht is a long cloak made up of camel hair and goat wool that is worn, over a white thobe, by men in the Arab world. It is made out of light material with trimming made out of real gold.

A Bisht is usually worn as a symbol of prestige on special occasions  by royalty, religious leaders, politicians and wealthy individuals.

Messi himself seemed honoured to wear the Qatari Bisht. But, the moment has garnered varied reactions .
