Kathmandu, Feb 11: The Election Commission (EC) is launching a nationwide voter education campaign in a bid to make successful the upcoming House of Representatives election scheduled for March 5.
The voter education drive will run from February 15 to March 1 so that voting process would be made easier. It would also help reduce number of invalid votes.
Every ward will have a volunteer for voter education. There are 6,743 wards in 753 local levels across the country. The volunteers reach every household and make aware the people on the role of voting.
Sample ballot papers are used to educate the voters, according to Spokesperson at EC, Narayan Prasad Bhattarai. Even a contact person will be in place at each local level for monitoring the voter education.
