Lumbini, Aug 9: The Rupandehi District Prison has informed that former deputy prime minister Rabi Lamichhane's security was taken into account while managing his imprisonment.
Issuing a press statement on Friday, the prison administration said Lamichhane, who is currently in Bhairahawa-based prison facing a cooperative fraud case, is provided a separate room.
The statement was issued by prison administrator Suresh Bhandari. Lamichhane, the suspended House of Representatives member, is in this prison for four months. He is enquired about his needs and status from time to time, Bhandari added, arguing that prison's attention was drawn towards media reports.
Bhandari refuted the news that stated Lamichhane was discriminated in the prison.
