Bakra Eid, also known as Eid al-Adha, is being celebrated today.
It is observed during the month of Zul Hijjah/Dhu al-Hijjah, which is the twelfth month of the Islamic lunar calendar.
Muslims commemorate the occasion by sacrificing animals and sharing the meat with family, relatives, and the needy.
The festivities begin by offering morning prayers at the mosque and subsequently carrying out the ritual of sacrifice, symbolizing self-sacrifice and expressing gratitude to Allah.
