Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has appealed to all concerned bodies of the State to effectively implement the laws and policies to eliminate racial discrimination and untouchability.
Giving a message of best wishes on the occasion of the National Day for Elimination of Racial Discrimination and Untouchability today, PM Dahal reminded that all three tiers of government must be responsible to enforce the necessary laws.
"I make special appeal to all governments to include Dalit empowerment programmes in their policy, programmes and budgets and enforce laws against discrimination," PM Dahal underlined in the message.
The PM reminded that Dalit communities deserve prior rights to compensation and they be ensured their socioeconomic and cultural rights without any hindrances.
The Head of the government reminded that State has a policy of positive discrimination. Even a scheme to form a Dalit development authority was launched in the government policies and programmes. Even the Dalit campaign should continue overseeing State activities so that their struggle for justice could be realized soon. ---
