
Two newly appointed ministers took the oath of office and secrecy today.
President Paudel administered the oath to Minister for Home Affairs Sudhan Gurung and Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation Mahabir Pun at a function held at the Office of the President in Shital Niwas.
Prime Minister Balendra Shah expanded his Cabinet by inducting a new minister and reinducting a minister who had earlier resigned on moral grounds.
Home Minister Gurung is a Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) MP elected from Gorkha constituency-1, while Innovation Minister Pun is an independent MP elected from Myagdi.
Gurung had resigned as the Home Minister after questions were raised about his property details.
Present on the occasion were Vice President Ramsahay Prasad Yadav, Prime Minister Balendra Shah, Chief Justice Dr Manoj Kumar Sharma, Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal, National Assembly Chairman Narayan Prasad Dahal, heads of constitutional bodies, and high-ranking government officials.
