Kathmandu, Sept 3: Prime Minister Balendra Shah has asserted that people trapped inside tunnels of different hydropower projects due to flood in Bhotekoshi river would be rescued at the earliest.
During the meeting with a delegation comprising Chairperson of the Ujyalo Nepal Party, Kulman Ghising, at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Singha Durbar, Prime Minister Shah clarified that teams comprising experts have been carrying out efforts for the rescue of the people trapped inside the tunnels.
Talking to media persons after the meeting with PM Shah, former Energy Minister Ghising opined, "We suggested taking necessary equipment and human resources in tunnel areas for the rescue."
The government would mobilize all possible means resources as well as human resources for safe rescue of the citizens trapped inside the tunnels, shared Chair Ghising quoting PM Shah.
On the occasion, Chair Ghising suggested the government to restore road network in order to accelerate relief distribution task at flood-hit areas in Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts.
Extensive discussion was held on the issue of extending road network up to Syaphrubesi and installing Bailey bridges, he added.
